One thing the “democrats/liberals/ radicals/ socialists/ progressives” need to stop doing is trying to one- up each other and point out everything we forget. This is why Republicans and conservatives win. They stick together.
We don’t. We have a large range of “radical” levels and we squabble amongst ourselves at who is the most educated or most right or most insightful. We need to stop that and come together. We need to realize many of us have similar goals, we just need to understand each other better.
It just feels that many of the posts/articles I do, or comments, or other progressive websites— it always seems someone is just waiting to show the writer how wrong they are, or its’s not wrong, but I need to explain it for you, or you don’t understand everything correctly. All that does is make me want to stop posting and reading.
It’s not opening a dialogue, it makes me feel less than, as I’m sure it does for other people. I am educated, I am very informed, and I can still feel this way. So we all need to think about how the less privileged would feel getting that kind of response. It’s impact, not intent. We are not all on the same page. We have a range.
Need to stop fighting, nitpicking and competing to see who is the most “woke”.
